2022 INFINITI QX60 Autograph Review

This week I have a beauty for you.  This is the all-new 2022 INFINITI QX60, a 3-row luxury SUV.

Exterior

Starting with exterior, the headlight design looks great, I love the 20” wheels and the rear LED taillights, and the black roof is a nice offset to the Moonbow Blue exterior.  I’m not sure what is going on with the rear bumper to be honest.  I’m not sure if it is supposed to look like quad exhaust or not, but I could have done without the chrome ornaments.

You can get the new QX60 in a variety of different trims.  This one is the top-of-the-line Autograph and everything you see is standard equipment, except for an additional charge for the paint.

Powertrain

Under the hood, you’ll find a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6 putting out 295-horses and 270-pound feet of torque.  Gone is the CVT thankfully, replaced by a 9-speed shiftable automatic, a very refreshing change. This vehicle is all-wheel drive.

Interior

Open any door to reveal a truly outstanding interior.  The quilted leather power seats are just beautiful. They are heated and air conditioned and will even massage you.

The attention to detail is impressive, especially across the dash into the door panels.  The quilting on the dash is beautiful and is accented with heavy stitching and black wood.

There is a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that you can configure from the steering wheel.  You can get a lot of information from the driver info center and access settings for the safety systems.

Center dash is another 12.3-inch touchscreen that operates the 17-speaker Bose sound system, the navigation, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and real-time fuel prices, traffic, weather, and sports scores.  There is a huge head-up display on the windshield.

The pass-through center console is also impressive.  The pushbutton start is there, a switch to disable the start/stop, shortcuts to the interactive screen, the Auto Hold, and the drive modes.  Choose from Personal, Sport, Auto, or Eco.  Each one makes a big difference in the drive and handling of this SUV.

The QX60 has a great shift handle and forward of that is a wireless phone charger.  To sum it up, INFINITI made the front compartment comfortable, intuitive, and everything is easily within reach.

Moving to the second row seats, there are very comfortable captain chairs with a really cool removable center console.  The seats are heated, there are window shades to keep the sun out, and second row passengers can control their own temperature, have USBs and a power outlet.

Third row seat room is good for two adults and there are USBs for them also.

Utility

Cargo area is ok, there is storage underneath, and the third-row seats fold down manually, but there are power buttons to raise them back up.  With all seats folded down, there is 75-cubic feet of cargo area.

Standard Equipment

This Autograph edition virtually comes with everything you can think of, including a panoramic moon roof, power liftgate, remote start, electronic rearview mirror, front and rear parking sensors, and much more.

Safety

On the safety front, you get forward collision warning with emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, a terrific rearview camera with rear cross traffic alert, and rear automatic braking.

One complaint, which I’ve never raised before in a car review:  The blinkers are too quiet.  If you have the air conditioning or radio on, you can’t hear them.  To be fair, my review vehicle is a pre-production model, so this could be corrected before final production.

Ride and Drive

This SUV is incredibly quiet inside and the ride and handling are about as good as anything I’ve ever driven.  The steering is responsive, acceleration is really good, and it will tow 6,000 pounds.

Fuel economy has not been rated yet, but it is doing about 20 in town and 28 on the highway in real-world driving.  MSRP is $63,250 on this ultra-loaded SUV and I expected it to be more.

Verdict

INFINITI killed it with this all new QX60, it’s a game changer for the luxury arm of Nissan.
