So have you seen Nissan’s new video spot yet? It’s a hilarious take on the perils of floral delivery featuring actor Mickey Rourke. (We’re betting he’s pretty much the person voted “least likely” to be a flower deliveryman, making him a shoe-in for the part.)
Here’s the story. Rourke plays a retired Green Beret turned florist who teams up with Special Ops Agent Carl Weathers for “one last job”. It’s a special and highly confidential delivery that takes them on a wild adventure through the Mexican desert. Along the way, they are forced to fend off a not-too-friendly biker gang.
You’ll have to watch to see how it all turns out.
Nissan produced the video to celebrate Nissan’s 5-year/100,000 mile limited warranty and to show off the van’s suspension, anti-lock brakes, anti-corrosion features and powertrain. The fact Rourke plays a florist also plays into Nissan’s small business message.
“We want to bring attention to the durability and efficiency that small business owners can expect from Nissan’s commercial vehicles,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America, Inc. “These vehicles endure more than 7,000 tests during the development process, compressing 13 years of real-world use into about three months. The results are highly dependable vehicles for our owners.”
While we can’t say we’re in the market for a Nissan van at the moment, the video gets our thumbs up in the entertainment department.
