Let the trumpet sound! Rolls-Royce says, yes, it will indeed build an SUV. Well, Rolls-Royce won’t actually use the word SUV, but the automaker says it will build a “high bodied car” with an all-new aluminum architecture.
An open letter from Rolls-Royce’s CEO reads, “Many discerning customers have urged us to develop this new car – and we have listened.”
It goes on to say, “we confirm that we are developing an all-new Rolls-Royce with exceptional presence, elegance and purpose, a car that offer the luxury of a Rolls-Royce in a vehicle that can cross any terrain.”
CADILLAC WORKS ON IMAGE
Cadillac hopes channeling President Theodore Roosevelt will help it strengthen the brand. It’s debuting a new ad campaign this Oscar Sunday. The “Dare Greatly” spot doesn’t actually show any Cadillac vehicles, but it borrows from Roosevelt’s famous “Citizenship in a Republic” speech. Cadillac is battling brand issues and recently had to cut prices on some of its sedans.
DODGE BRINGS BACK SHAKER HOOD
Finally, Dodge is bringing back its Challenger shaker hoods again. Last year’s shaker editions sold out in just four days.
“After selling out last year’s Shaker model production in just four days, our hardcore Challenger customers demanded we bring back the Shaker – plus offer more power and more performance,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO, Dodge and SRT Brands. “We listened, and for 2015, the new Dodge Challenger lineup offers the legendary Shaker hood expanded to include our 485 horsepower HEMI V-8 delivering up to 113 more horsepower than last year, plus even more track-proven hardware and technology – a combination our enthusiasts have been waiting for.”
The good news is that for 2015, the hood will be available on more models. New 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker and R/T Plus Shaker are available for ordering now, with the high-performance 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker model available for customer orders in March.
