Volvo is recalling 2014 S60, S80, XC60 and XC70 models that are equipped with keyless ignition to fix a software glitch.
The company said the central electronic module in the cars and crossovers is not performing as intended. As a result, the windshield wipers may run continuously while the car is on.
Turn signals, high beams and the headlight switch also may not function properly, the company said, citing reports from owners and users.
As many as 7,767 vehicles could be affected by the software glitch, Volvo said.
Volvo said it was not aware of any injuries or accidents as a result of the problem.
Owners affected by the recall will be notified by mail or e-mail. Dealers will inspect and upgrade the software free of charge.
